The Scottish FA Coach Education team officially announced the latest crop of UEFA Pro Licence students and we are extremely proud to have Escolla’s Co-Founder, Gilberto Damiano, amongst this prestigious group.
Our Co-Founder joins a select group of coaches after 80 applications were narrowed down to the final 20, who will begin their Scottish FA-delivered course on 31 August. The latest intake will begin their learning process online, as COVID-19 measures remain in place.
Scottish FA Head of Coach Education and Development Greig Paterson: “The shortlisting and selection process was really competitive, as it always is. We received 84 applications, and it was extremely difficult arriving at the final 20 course participants but the strength of this group is clear to see.
As a club, we have been following Gilberto’s journey very closely and know how much effort and commitment has been put into this achievement. If you are part of the Escolla family, you will also know how much this means to coach Giba and will be proud of his journey like we are.
Our players & staff will continue to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience that coach Giba has to offer, as he continues with his key role as Technical Director at London Escolla.
Gilberto: “I’m looking forward to starting the next stage of my development and I am very grateful and proud to be allowed to learn and share experiences with such an amazing group of coaches and educators. It has always been my dream to do the Pro-Licence and I must say thank you to my family (Raquel, Henrique, and Lucas) who have helped me from the beginning. My gratitude also goes to all players, coaches, friends, clubs, and in particular the Escolla and US Virgin Islands families who helped me become the person and coach I am today.”
GOOD LUCK GIBA!
